I began playing drums at the age of 12 and had my first gig a year later. Since then, I have performed at over 3000 shows in various venues such as clubs, musical theaters, international music festivals, and concert arenas.
I earned my degree in Budapest and established my first drum school at age 18. Teaching drums has since become my lifelong passion, and over the last 30 years, I have educated hundreds of students, always welcoming drummers with diverse learning needs. I have infinite patience, catering to drummers of all ages - from my youngest student at 4 to my oldest at 85. I speak and treat each age group with equal respect to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for all.
The recitals I host are always fun, family-friendly events with drumming and treats, fostering a sense of community and celebration of musical achievements.
I provide a systematic and easy way to learn drums, focusing on technique, musical styles, and individual preferences. The unique music notation teaching system, showcased in my book "Decoding Drumming," has garnered years of positive feedback from my students, proving its effectiveness in simplifying the process of learning to read music.
The title of the book, Decoding Drumming, is inspired by computer coding, particularly binary code. This method of drum instruction is distinct in that it is the first and only book where each 16 or 32 bar exercise can be memorized effortlessly within seconds.
The book offers a set of mentally stimulating exercises and serves as a valuable learning guide for musicians of all abilities, including those with conditions such as ADHD, dyslexia, CAPD, autism, hearing/visual loss, or Alzheimer's.
The exercises are designed for drummers aged four and above, covering a diverse range of musical genres to enhance skills at all proficiency levels.
The entire book is structured in a clear and easily intelligible sequence. Simply grasping the logical arrangement of numbers 1 and 2 is all that is required to decode and retain the exercises presented in the book.
This allows visually impaired drummers to perceive the content without relying on traditional music notation.
However there is no requirement to memorize these numbers, you can simply read the notes and perform the exercises as you would with any other drum instructional material.
Additionally, to enhance your learning experience, I have included video tutorials and music sheet samples here on my website.
